Random Act for Change

“Why don’t you donate them to TAP?” asked the man witnessing the exchange. “And here is some more to go with your donation,” he said as he handed over some of his own money.

On that particular day, a small bag of change in the total of $21.41 was donated from 2 gentlemen in Tavistock who did not leave their names.

Acts of generosity like this will go a long way to supporting members of our community who find themselves in a situation which has disrupted their normal way of life, and which has impacted their financial stability in some way.

TAP works to provide a better way for people who are struggling due to an unforeseen circumstance. An example of this would be a sudden illness. Once a situation is reported, TAP’s Program Director works with the individual or family to identify ways in which TAP can support them best. Sometimes, gift cards are provided. Food, or even a service can be provided to help the family through a unique circumstance.

Whatever the need may be, the program runs with strict confidentiality. We have a great deal of respect for this community.

As a non-profit organization, we are so fortunate to live in a community where TAP was on the top of someone’s mind when they witnessed a man looking for something to do with a pile of spare change.

Together, we can create a community that thrives on the building blocks of neighbours helping neighbours, with these simple, random acts for change.
